City of Hutchinson Department Contact
and Service Status
The City of Hutchinson has been working with local, county and state partners to help protect the health and wellness of both the community and employees during this rapidly changing coronavirus outbreak. The City is moving forward with its Pandemic Response Plan on the delivery of city services while minimizing direct person-to-person contact. The City has closed down City Center to allow the continuing of public services while reducing the potential direct contact with city employees carrying out those services.
To maintain the city’s continuity of business, we ask residents to refer to the following information:
Administration Department
The Administrative/Finance window at City Center is open for customer facing services including utility bill pay, Monday – Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. The City is asking, whenever possible, that payments be made either online or by check. Checks can be mailed or dropped in the payment box outside of City Center. The City’s Administration Department can be reached by calling (320) 234-5650.
Building and Permitting Department
The service counter for the Building/Planning/Zoning Departments at the City Center is open for customer facing services, starting Monday, June 22, 2020. The service counter is open from
8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday-Friday. Please call (320) 234-4216 or Email Us if you have any questions.

Burich Ice Arena

Campground and Dump Station
The Masonic/West River Campground and dump station associated with the campground will open for regular public use Today, Monday, June 1. Additional information on the campground can be accessed at https://www.hutchinsonprce.com/parks-campground-and-outdoor-activities/campground/
City Council Meeting
The City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2020 will be held as scheduled.
Creekside Soils
Creekside Soil will be changing its winter hours effective on Tuesday, December 1st, to Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and closed on Saturdays. To contact Creekside Staff, please call (320) 587-6762.
Event and Senior Center

Finance
The City is continuing to operate its finance functions. Please contact Finance staff at

Fire Station
The Hutchinson Fire Department Lobby is currently closed to the public to ensure
Fire Fighter safety.
If you have a fire or medical emergency, call 911. For non-emergency assistance please call
(320) 234‐4211. The Hutchinson Fire and Rescue Department continues to be fully staffed and operating under normal protocols without interruption.
HUTCHINSON AQUATIC CENTER
Due to the health and safety challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hutchinson Family Aquatic Center will be closed for the 2020 season.
Hutchinson Enterprise Center/EDA
The Enterprise Center is closed to the public. Please feel free to contact EDA staff at (320) 234-4223.
Hutchinson HRA

Hutchinson Senior Dining

Liquor Hutch
Liquor Hutch will go back to normal hours beginning Today, Monday, June 1. Store hours are
8 am – 10 pm, Monday – Saturday, and 11 am – 6 pm on Sundays. Liquor Hutch can be contacted at (320) 587-2762.
Motor Vehicle Department (DMV)
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY effective May 20, 2020 Hutchinson Motor Vehicle offices will again be open to the public Monday – Friday 8-4.
*If you need to renew your Driver’s license please visit the Motor Vehicle page for the link to make an appointment. There will be no drop ins allowed. IF YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE IS NOT EXPIRED, please wait until it is closer to expiration to allow those whose license is expired to renew. THANK YOU
* If you are in need of a written test, you will need to schedule with one of the 15 exam stations open in the state. St Paul (knowledge test only), Arden Hills, Anoka, Eagan, Plymouth, Rochester, Mankato, Marshall, Willmar, Detroit Lakes, St Cloud, Brainerd, Duluth, Grand Rapids, Bemidji and Fairmont (road tests only)
*If you have a reinstatement fee that you need to pay, you can pay through the phone with a credit card or make an appointment to pay with cash or credit/debit card.
* If you have a tab renewal, we are encouraging you to utilize our drop boxes located on the south side of the city center parking lot or in the lobby. Please enclose the entire renewal form with insurance information filled out and payment in an envelope. You can also mail the renewal directly to our office at 111 Hassan St SE, Hutchinson, MN 55350
*If you have a title to transfer, you can either:
Email pictures of the title front and back with your purchase price to the DMV email and we will email you back if there is more information to be filled out and the total for the transfer. [email protected] You can then enclose the title and payment in an envelope and place it in either drop box and we will process it and send you out your copy.

Utility Billing
Until further notice, the Hutchinson City Council has approved the following temporary policy changes to its Utility Billing process, which consists of Water, Sewer, Refuse and Storm Water services:
- No penalties for late payment after the March 27 due date
- Customer water service will not be discontinued due to non-payment
- City staff will work with customers to create payment plans, if necessary, due to the COVID-19 challenges
- City requests that any payments be made either online or by check. Checks can be mailed or dropped in the box outside of city center

The Hutchinson Water Plant is continuing operations, but its facilities are also closed to public
