Residents leaving the City of Hutchinson to winter in warmer weather may apply to discontinue refuse service during their time away. The only requirement is that the absence from the Hutchinson residence is at least 60 consecutive days.  It is the resident’s responsibility to complete the necessary application form and submit to the City’s utility billing department.  It is also the resident’s responsibility to inform the utility billing department upon returning in order to restore refuse service.
