Service and continued service to our Nation and Community have always been my greatest passions. I am Tim Burley, a United States Army Honorably Discharged and Disabled Veteran. Hutchinson became home when I met my wife, Jennifer, a life-long resident of Hutchinson, back in 2012. We have 6 sons and 2 grandchildren, 2 boys and as my wife says, “Finally a granddaughter”. After traveling to many countries, cities, and states throughout the world, I finally decided Hutchinson would be “Home”.
I have served on the City Council in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and have served as an Organizational Trainer for Citizens Network for Foreign Affairs, working with former Soviet States as they have transitioned from Communism, in reorganization of their current Democratic based systems in Agriculture, Trade, Banking, and Insurance.
I currently serve as the Director for Saluting Community Heroes, a Hutchinson based Veteran’s Crisis Assistance Organization, specializing in fundraising for Veteran’s Crisis, as well as the Founder of Welcomehome.vet, a Veteran transition initiative developed and piloted in Hutchinson, to increase Veteran awareness in the areas of economic development, entrepreneurial skills, and reintegration into our community. I also served as the Hutchinson American Legion Post 96 commander for 4 years and am currently the Post Veteran Service Officer and Finance Officer. I have also filled roles in Public Affairs, Marketing, and Veteran Affairs and Rehabilitation.
I have also been active the McLeod County Relay for Life, coached youth soccer, and volunteered with many other organizations that make Hutchinson a great place to live.
