Hutchinson is lucky!
We are one of the few cities in the country
that generates revenue for the City from our collected organic waste. And we’ve been doing this for over 20 years!
Organic waste is converted into compost at Hutchinson’s CreekSide Soils facility on Adams Street. The compost is bagged and sold to buyers in and out of state. Profits from these sales, often over $100,000/year, supports City services.
