NOTICE OF SPECIAL PRIMARY ELECTION ON APRIL 14, 2026 AND SPECIAL GENERAL ELECTION ON AUGUST 11, 2026
Notice is hereby given that a Special General Election will be held in McLeod County on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, for the purpose of electing a candidate for the office listed below. Note: In the event that three or more candidates file for the open seat, a Special Primary Election shall be held on April 14, 2026, and a Special General Election shall be held on August 11, 2026. The filing period for this office begins at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2026, and ends at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2026. The last day to withdraw is Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. This notice is provided pursuant to Minnesota Statutes section 204B.33.
Candidates for County Office must file during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with exceptions noted above, in the office of the McLeod County Auditor-Treasurer, McLeod County Government Center, 520 Chandler Avenue North, Glencoe, MN 55336.

One (1) County Commissioner – District 5, to fill the vacant office with term expiring January 4, 2027 (includes the Townships of Acoma and Hutchinson and the City of Hutchinson Precinct 2)
