Candidate Filings

NOTICE OF FILING

Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of the city of Hutchinson, Minnesota, who may desire to be a candidate for City Office at the General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.  The offices listed below will be voted on.  If three or more candidates should file for one office, a primary election will be held August 13, 2024.  Qualified candidates must file an affidavit of candidacy with Melissa Starke, Election Official for the City of Hutchinson (or designee), accompanied by a filing fee of $20.00, between May 21, 2024, and June 4, 2024.  Affidavits of Candidacy will be accepted ring normal business hours (8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) at the Hutchinson City Center, 111 Hassan Street SE, Hutchinson, Minnesota 55350 and will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on June 4, 2024.  Note:  Filing offices will be closed Monday, May 27, 2024, in observance of Memorial Day.  For questions related to filing, please contact Melissa Starke at (320) 234-4202 or [email protected].

Offices to be filled are as follows:

COUNCIL SEAT #3 – four-year term
COUNCIL SEAT #4 – four-year term
MAYOR – two-year term

This is in accordance with the provisions of Minnesota State Statute 205.13 as amended.
