Press Release

Storm Damage Declaration (May 30, 2022 storm)
Brush call-in 05/31/2022 to 06/08/2022

The City has declared this event to be a storm for forestry purposes.  The City only picks up brush following declared storms.

Significant wind accompanied the storm on the evening of Monday, May 30, 2022.  There were a number of tree limbs and branches that broke off as a result of high winds.

Residents must call the City at (320) 234-4219 to report the address where the brush is placed.

  • Residents are encouraged to report any potentially hazardous conditions related to boulevard trees located along their street.
  • When leaving a voicemail message, please let us know the address where the brush is located.

Brush must be placed at the edge of the street, behind the curb, on the boulevard.  Brush not placed adjacent to the edge of the roadway will not be removed by the City.  The City does not pick up brush, unless it is a result of storm damage.

Residents are also encouraged to clean debris from storm water drains near their property.  This will help to avoid localized flooding issues, should additional rainfall occur before everything is cleaned up.

During the period May 31 to June 8, 2022, the City will be hauling and/or chipping brush from damaged limbs and branches.  After the deadline of June 8, the City will no longer respond to calls for brush removal.  After June 8, property owners will be responsible for removing their own brush.
