Storm Damage Declaration (August 2-3, 2022 storm)

Brush call-in period: 08/03/2022 to 08/11/2022

 

The City has declared this event to be a storm for forestry purposes.  The City only picks up brush following declared storms.

 

Significant wind accompanied the storm on the evening of Tuesday, August 2, 2022. There were a number of tree limbs and branches that broke off as a result of high winds.

Following declared storms, property owners contact City to report address and location of brush. City crews pick up debris that is stacked neatly along the curb until the posted

deadline.

 

Residents must call the City at (320) 234-4219 to report the address where the brush is placed. Residents provide the following information to Public Works:

  • The affected address and location of the brush, limbs &
  • Any damage to boulevard trees (those adjacent to the street) they may

The City does not pick up brush, unless it is a result of storm damage. Brush must be placed at the edge of the street, behind the curb, on the boulevard. Brush not placed adjacent to the edge of the roadway will not be removed by the City.

Residents are also encouraged to clean debris from storm water drains near their property. This will help to avoid localized flooding issues, should additional rainfall occur before everything is cleaned up.

During the period August 3 to August 11, 2022, the City will be hauling and/or chipping brush from damaged limbs and branches.

  • After August 11, the City will no longer respond to calls for brush
  • After August 11, property owners will be responsible for removing their own
