Effective October 1, 2015, West Central Sanitation will be the City of Hutchinson’s new refuse hauling contractor.
In preparation of this change in service, West Central Sanitation will be delivering new garbage containers and compost containers to residents the week of September 14, 2015. The new garbage container will have a black lid and the new compost container will have a green lid. Upon delivery, residents should check to ensure the garbage container they receive is the appropriate size.
The current provider, Waste Management, will begin collecting their containers starting Thursday, September 24, 2015 after the collection of garbage and should continue through the end of the month. Starting on Thursday, September 24th, Residents should leave their Waste Management carts down by the road so they can be collected. This will cause some overlap in that residents will have containers from both West Central Sanitation and Waste Management for a short period of time. Residents should continue to set out their Waste Management garbage and compost containers until September 30, 2015 or until they have been collected, and begin using their West Central Sanitation containers beginning October 1, 2015.
