2019 LEAF VACUUM SEASON PRESS RELEASE
PLEASE NOTE this service is for leaves, not grass.
With wet, warm weather this fall, there is a lot of grass in the rows. In some cases, the rows in front of some houses have been made up primarily of grass. Grass vacuums much harder than leaves and can create undue wear on the vacuum’s intake.
Your assistance in reducing the amount of grass in the rows is appreciated and will result in higher machine reliability.
If you use a mower to collect leaves, simply raise the deck of your mower so you collect primarily leaves instead of grass.
City operators will be instructed to leave rows that are primarily made of up mowed grass. Property owners with rows primarily made up of mowed grass will be responsible for cleaning up the row. If the rows remain, the City will be cleaning them up and may charge property owners for that service.
